David Joined COG Operating in 2011 and has been promoted into increasing rolls in Drilling Engineering where he now serves and Manager of Drilling Engineering. Following his years in the chemical industry, he went back into Underbalanced Drilling where he authored or co-authored several technical papers.ĭavid started his career on the operator side of the desk with Encore Acquisition company where he had engineering responsibility over 100 wells in both the Permian Basin and Bakken area of North Dakota. After leaving Ingersoll Rand he spent several years in drilling fluid Research and Development and field application of new unique products.
He developed several unique techniques including concentric casing aerated fluid drilling in the North Sea. He worked several years for Ingersoll Rand in Air Drilling where he worked on projects in 36 states and six foreign countries. We will also seek to define consistent, cross-discipline metrics that meet the goals and expectations of each group. We will foster dialogue and understanding of the business metrics utilized by each group and discuss how the well construction process impacts the completion and production teams. This IADD topical forum will address these issues and determine the criteria for success. What are the metrics used? Are they aligned or diametrically opposed? Is one group even aware of the scorecard being used by the other? To a production engineer, it can be about production rates or minimizing workovers or well interventions.To a completion engineer, it can be about the ease of running casing or a completion system.To a geologist, it can be about identifying and staying in the zone.
